Just Because Your Website is Pretty that Doesn't Mean It Works

,
We've talked about it before: your website can be gorgeous, awesome, the best design ever! But if the results aren't stunning, then your site isn't delivering. Websites shouldn't be defined by design, but by results. If it isn't generating a positive return on investment (ROI), then you may need to rethink your online strategy.

In "3 Ways to Make Your Awesome Web Design Provide ROI," Gabriel Shaoolian provides three simple strategies to make your website generate a positive ROI.

Strategy #1. Shaoolian writes that having clear, concise messaging and prominent call to actions compels visitors to act. He advises to keep copy short with the expectation that people aren't going to read it. Give them what's important in a short value proposition and most of all, provide a clear call to action. Online scheduling or messaging on each page is an easy way to compel visitors to engage.

Strategy #2. He also recommends email retargeting to build loyalty and extend your brand. These visitors know who you as they viewed your products and services so they are not going to forget. He suggests using newsletters that highlight resources on your website that keep people coming back for more. One idea is to add a link to schedule an appointment within your emails so the user can easily engage when interest is at its peak.

Strategy #3. And Shaoolian advises A/B testing when making major changes to your site as your instincts may not be completely on target. You may love the change, but your web visitors may not be as positive.

Shaoolian believes design is important, but it doesn't help your bottom line. Follow these three simple strategies and you can make your awesome-looking website perform as well as it looks.
